“Max's draw is exactly what has always attracted people to neighborhood restaurants: well-prepared food, served with warmth”
-New York Times, Eric Asimov
Max is a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant serving authentic, soul-satisfying southern Italian cooking with a warm welcome. It originally opened in 2000 in alphabet city and a few years ago moved to Tribeca. What started as a dream for Luigi Iasilli, a young guy from the south Italy became a many times award winning restaurant and the go to place for high quality food at reasonable prices in a rustic setting. As Italians would say it…that’s amore.
“MAX’s classic ricotta-free molten Lasagna is the ultimate comfort food— a perfect, tongue scolding tower of fresh pasta, cream béchamel and rich Bolognese”
